As Vikings Futsal have spread their wings and ventured further into the international scene numerous opportunities have become available in all parts of the world. One of the major advancements has been within the international tours department where a great number of new destinations have become available for the first time. One of which is the Barcelona tour that is currently taking place after the tour group departed on the 2nd of May.  On this tour they will play games against various Spanish representative teams, train under professional Futsal coaches, attend national league Futsal and Soccer games as well as check out the city's most spectacular sight-seeing landmarks.

The tour group were treated with a great surprise when two of the most respected Futsal personalities turned up to one of their training sessions. On hand to show of there vast Futsal knowledge and expertise was Sito Rivera and Javi Rodriguez.

Sito Rivera is the current coach of the Romanian Futsal team and was able to share insight into aspects of the Futsal game that he has picked up over his long career in the sport.  The Spanish born coach has a long line of achievements that has seen him in high demand for his expertise.

Sito coached several top Spanish clubs before taking charge of Japan in '07'. In 2009 he took the helm of Romania and their leading team FC CIP Deva, coaching them in the '09' UEFA Futsal Cup, but was available after the club withdrew from competition for financial reasons. He remains with Romania.

Another great surprise came in the form of the worlds most successful Futsal player Javier Rodriguez who was also at hand at the training session.  Javier was able to talk to the tour group about his experiences in the game and also share knowledge on what it takes to be a professional Futsal player.  A glance at his achievements shows that he has won everything in the game, both individually and collectively. Hailing from Spain, Javier's proudest moment was cementing his place as Spain's greatest ever player by captaining his country and bringing home the 2000 and 2004 Futsal World Cups.

Followed by a discussion the players were taken through an insightful training session by the greats of the game. With such a rare opportunity this will no doubt be a great experience for all players to take home with them from Barcelona.
